Jardigo's Castle

Jardigo’s Castle by Martyn Croft
This is a page-turning tale, a fine and well-constructed story that’s internationally based on a modern-day Robin Hood with his coerced band of “Merry Men.”
It kept its momentum admirably up to the final page, but it was long-winded. The text tended to tell instead of show, a good tight edit would have made an infinitely more gripping saga.
Jardigo Batista, based in a castle in Portugal, is the supposed do-gooder who exploits money by international fraud using men who like him are drawn to greed. Whether by blackmail or pure greed is a question that you’ll be asking yourself. The whole set-up gets you wondering how easy blackmail and greed can sway the good in men. Or can it?
This is a book I’d recommend, having all the factors of a good story, it’s put together well with nicely spaced easy-to-read text. It’s worth the read and worth the price, although it with that professional edit – it would be better still.
